About This Product
<p data-start="46" data-end="221"><strong data-start="46" data-end="78">O-Loperamide Capsules (OA&J)</strong> contain <strong data-start="87" data-end="115">Loperamide hydrochloride</strong>, an <strong data-start="120" data-end="147">antidiarrhoeal medicine</strong> used to control and reduce diarrhoea by slowing down intestinal movement.</p><p data-start="223" data-end="471">It acts directly on the <strong data-start="247" data-end="278">intestinal opioid receptors</strong>, which decreases bowel motility and increases absorption of water and electrolytes from the gut. This results in <strong data-start="392" data-end="470">reduced stool frequency, improved stool consistency, and decreased urgency</strong>.</p><p data-start="46" data-end="201"> </p><p data-start="473" data-end="773">O-Loperamide is mainly used for the <strong data-start="509" data-end="645">symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea, traveller’s diarrhoea, and certain chronic diarrhoeal conditions under medical supervision</strong>. It is intended for short-term use and should be combined with adequate fluid replacement (such as ORS) to prevent dehydration.</p>
